- We are continuing to take a deeper look at letters and their sounds as well as how the letters interact to make words.
- In addition, we will start learning about how letters work together to make special sounds in words: th, sh, and ck.
Literacy:
- Guided reading groups will continue as students practice their reading accuracy and comprehension.
- Students will work on a new reading strategy: flippy dolphin.
- Students will work on finding the main idea and details of a text
- Students will work on learning the 5 vowels and the different sounds they make in words
- Students will learn about magic E and how he changes vowel sounds in words from short to long
Math:
- describe objects using the names of shapes
- use positional words to describe shapes
- correctly identify shapes egardless of their orientation or size
- model shapes by building them from different materials
- compose simple shapes from larger shapes
- represent addition and subtraction problem using five frames and equations
Social Studies/Science:
- Students will learn about how we are alike and different
